Chicks!
We have been “running” since the kids & I got home on Wednesday evening – so much to do here on the farm. Before we left 15 chicks were born. They started life in a box on the kitchen “island.” With Caleb around they were not safe to be in their usual place by the French Doors on the floor.
When we left Richard graduated them to the usual place. By the time we got back they were becoming very adventurous & wandering all over the house, gladly leaving a poop trail behind them! Now, you are very welcome in this house BUT if you start pooping on my floors it is time for a quick exit! LOL! SO Thursday morning we remade the pen out the back & they were put out there. Of course, being not so bright they found gaps to get out & the next morning one was cheeping outside the kitchen window! Thankfully I got to it before the dogs.
We have quite a mixture in this lot so though I would share a couple pics. How cute is this?!
Not sure what breed this one is but she is very pretty with brown feathers on her back:
Turkey eggs are in the incubator right now along with a couple Green eggs & some Black Copper Maran eggs.
Take care,
Liz
