Stony Brook State Park, Dansville, NY
After dropping piglets off last Saturday we headed north to Lockport, NY. On our way we stopped at Stony Brook State Park which is just outside Dansville, NY. What a NICE park! It felt so good to be out in the sunshine & getting some exercise.
We walked along the bottom by the falls first:
The yellow markings are for swimmers! Yes as you can see by the next picture they put “sliders/doors” on to dam up the water & then you can swim:
THEN the kids wanted to climb the mountain so off we went & here is the view from the pathway:
Not shown are the Picnic Tables scattered throughout the woods with plenty of shade. Lots of them. Good sized bathrooms too for those of you interested in that detail 🙂 Anyone with kids knows how important bathrooms are “right now!” This park also had a really nice play area with apparatus that you don’t see in other places. It was well laid out & I would recommend this to all.
LARGE parking lot too which was really advantageous for us.
Enjoy,
Liz
