My night with the piglets!

For some reason I have been yawning today! LOL! Those two piglets were up at 12:15am, 3am, 5:15am & 6:45am. They were not going to be ignored & I had to get up fairly quickly so that they did not wake the whole house up with their squealing!

The good news? Wanda farrowed in the night – three boars & three gilts, plus another gilt stillborn. All the alive ones look great – we checked them out and ear notched them this afternoon. Of course we had ear notched the other two before we put them up there this morning.

One of Molly’s boars is doing fantastic. He has joined in with the crowd & is eating up a storm. Wanda has accepted them both. This particular boar was the one found down with Molly so may well have had some colostrum before the rain came. The other little boar was showing signs of weakness this morning & although he is still alive we are not expecting him to survive.

I get to get some sleep tonight! Yee Haa!
