On the road again in Elk City, OK

Well we had a good day yesterday. Left in the cold & cloud but by the time we got to Joplin, MO the skies had cleared and we had clear blue skies all the rest of the way.

Stopped in Claremore, OK for lunch. Not stopped there before but it is the birthplace of Will Rogers. Whilst there we also visited a thrift store which wasn’t very big but I did get a book off my Christmas list 🙂

Got to the hotel early last night – around 6:30pm so plenty of time to swim & get the kids in bed at a reasonable time. Tonight we will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico seeing friends that I have not seen in nearly 30 years! We had tried to see them the time we came through Albuquerque before but Kevin and Toni were on vacation. Very excited about this 🙂 Nearly 30 years ago a group of folks came to the Baptist Church we went to in St. Austell, Cornwall. The couples all stayed in different homes and Kevin & Toni came to stay with my parents in Mevagissey – 5 miles from St. Austell. I was only 14/15 at the time. We lost touch for a while & then when we moved over here some other friends of ours found them again for Dad so the connection was remade. Since that time we have kept in touch.

I’ll talk to you again tomorrow. Time to eat breakfast now 🙂
