A day on the beach
When we spent our day off in California we were in San Juan Capistrano which is below Huntington etc. We had a really nice hotel but breakfast was not included so we took a walk in the morning to the grocery store. San Juan Capistrano obviously has a lot of history surrounding it & the parts we saw were very clean with a lot of nice stores along the streets. It appears to be a tourist area. Not a place to be pulling a big trailer around but definitely worth a visit!
After our trip to the grocery store we went to the pool where we all had fun in the sun & water. Bella & Carina’s new owner came to pick them up at 1:30pm. He loved them immediately & Bella just jumped into his van, plonking herself bolt upright on the back seat like Lady Muck. She was in “heaven” & certainly was not sad at saying goodbye to us. They are enjoying their new life & we are so thankful for that opportunity.
Now it was time for the beach 🙂
The shuttle at the hotel gave us a ride to Doheny (pronounced Doe-hee-knee) State Beach. What a wonderful afternoon we had. It has been a LONG time since I relaxed on a beach.
Michelle braved going out in the sea but the one bad thing about it was that the floor was really rocky so hard on the feet. On the beach itself, there was sand so it was soft but once you hit the water there were lots of rocks. The little ones were quite happy building sandcastles etc & at the end the tide had gone out so they were catching crabs & snails in the rocks.
We really had a very relaxing time & then called for the shuttle to come pick us up.
Next door to the hotel there was a Denny’s restaurant. As we came out of the restaurant we saw these three dogs sat in the truck & I just couldn’t resist taking their picture.
What a poser the one on the right is! AND they all stayed in there – their owner was obviously eating dinner in Denny’s! Our dogs would have been out the window in 2 seconds running around the parking lot! In fact when we first came up to then the chocolate lab was also sitting up between the other two but by the time I had got my camera he had moved down.
Take care,
Liz
