On a working vacation :)
Hey folks! Richard, Caleb & I are back on the road again both working and relaxing. We wanted to meet some new business contacts which has been very helpful. At this time, we are parked right next to the Ohio River in northern Kentucky. Whilst the weather has been VERY wet back in Branson, we have been blessed with beautiful weather – not too hot and not too cold.
Today we met friends at the Creation Museum that we had not seen in 11 years! What a surprise to also see a young man from our days in Montana! A truly fun and special day catching up. The museum is VERY well done and worth a visit.
After not traveling much since COVID broke out, we made the determination to get away more this year. Business can be VERY stressful at times and has a tendency to suck time. Whilst I have been much better this year at staying home a couple days a week, it has taken a LOT of discipline on my part & makes the days I am there longer. Richard also gets pulled in multiple directions when we are back in Branson, so this time away is good for him also as he is able to focus on some projects that need to be done.
We had the privilege of visiting Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum. That was truly fascinating. The museum is exceptionally well done and if you take the free tour, you will learn even more. Of course it is the 150th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby coming up this next weekend, so the place is hopping with activity as staff prepare for the huge influx of people. The numbers are quite staggering.
The Big Four Bridge that spans over the Ohio River from Kentucky to Indiana is a GREAT walk. It used to be a disused railroad but opened as a walking bridge in 2013.
We even found some time for kayaking:
As always, we are blessed to live the life we do and SO SO grateful for the staff we have that allows us to do some traveling.
Love, Liz
