Made it to Wagner, SD
Had two days of 600+ miles including also losing an hour each day so they have been long but good. These roads are so easy to drive that the miles speed by so although a little tired not exhausted.
We got into Wagner, SD at dusk tonight just as folks were starting to let off their fireworks. I was hoping for an “official” display but there was none. No worries, the kids were excited to see what they saw 🙂
Tomorrow we pick up 2 horses here in Wagner, I then head to IA to pick up a young colt. From there we go to Peterson, MN to drop off the horse that I have on board right now. Then we come back into IA to stay in Dubuque. Wednesday morning we drive down to Jerseyville, IL to drop off the two horses from here in Wagner, then across to Kansas City for a pick up of 3 horses Thursday morning. Once they are on board we are truly on the homeward stretch, dropping them off in Linn City, MO followed by a drop in Hartville, MO for the colt. Hartvlle is only about an hour from home so I am hoping to be home by mid to late afternoon.
Once home, we have to clean out the truck & trailer ready for Richard to take the truck to the airport in Springfield Friday morning. He has to be there by 4:30 am to drop one piglet that is going to Idaho. Another one gets dropped off at 8am for his flight to Florida & then our friends come in at 1pm.
Exhausted yet?! LOL! Looking forward to getting home after what will be 3 1/2 weeks on the road. We are home for about 10 days before heading out again – not sure of that itinerary yet but it’s heading east first before heading back up into Canada. Taking a miniature Jersey bull calf to Alberta.
Take care,
Liz

tired but not exhaustedis a goodthing. I know the kids never really follow that route as they can take a nap while riding along. Glad they got to enjoy some fireworks, because at that age they are great no matter what the shoot off.m Take care safe trips.
