Noblett Lake in the Ozarks of Missouri
Seven photos in this posting.
The hiking boots went on again yesterday as we decided to enjoy the warmest day of the week. When I say the warmest it was only 38F (3C) but the sun was shining and we are not going to see temps that high again for at least a week. Noblett Lake is only about 30 mins from here but it was our first visit. Needless to say, we were the only people on the entire park! We parked down by the dam. If you look at the top picture taken from farther around the lake looking back towards the dam, you can just see our vehicle.
From there we followed a very narrow trail over to the main parking area:
The kids were excited to discover a play area:
There is a 12 mile trail around the lake but obviously we did not do that. We walked a ways and then came back. Some of the trail is steep, all of it is narrow and some of it there is a sheer drop on one side a long ways down into the lake or ravine. Definitely not for the faint of heart or for those scared of heights.
At one point we came across this rather pretty ice formation:
Surprisingly the signs say that this trail is suitable for horses. There is NO way I would want to be on the back of a horse on this trail! The “big” boys had a sword fight on the way back.
Good to be out again enjoying God’s creation and exercise.

Jim and I were talking about upcoming trips or vacations. We wonder if your family will be going to Southern Gospel Picnic next fall at Silver DollarCity? We are thinking about it again.
Also I wondered if I could get your address as I would like to send you our belated Christmas card?
