MT – Day 12 and 13 – Cleaning Rig Days
As you can imagine the fifth wheel and truck were FILTHY after that long trek across country. (Picture shows camper before it was clean!) With temps in the 70s it was the perfect weather to clean both rigs. Normally we are done in a day but alas, Richard discovered a lot of tar splashes up one side of the camper. What a pain to get off! It took ages so it was not until Saturday evening that we actually finished washing and waxing both rigs. THEN it poured with rain and we had to take the truck somewhere. Came home to see that it was muddy again! AAGH! Richard had the patience to clean it off again.
Trying to get all our TO DO list done on the camper whilst here. It’s mainly small things that need fixing but stuff that we have not had the time to do. Some items we were able to purchase at the local RV supply store here in Kalispell, other stuff Richard has had to order online. Hannah’s drawer fastener kept coming off and although we had purchased new from Home Depot they were just not man enough and kept failing. Now we have the proper RV ones. Many of the cheap plastic fixtures that fix in the side of the fridge to hold the lower trays in place broke very soon after we moved in to the camper. It’s taken us all this time and Hannah spilling raspberries all inside the fridge thus requiring a complete clean out for us to take the photos and find them online to replace them with. One of the knowledgeable RV guys told us how to repair thin cracks in our front cap fiberglass. It’s where a stone or bug has hit too hard. Not noticeable until you are up on a ladder waxing!
And no, we were not neglecting family. Michael and Jess had to go to Chinook on Saturday to pick up the three girls. Whilst Jess and Easton had come home on Friday, Calli had ridden on a bus back to Chinook where Jessie’s mom was bringing the other two girls so they had a LONG day not getting home until 3am on Sunday morning!
Take care,
Liz
