Marvel Cave, MO
After leaving Eureka Springs, AR we traveled back to Branson, MO for the night. One of the advantages with all the traveling we are doing is earning FREE nights 🙂 The next day we headed to Silver Dollar City. Daniel has been wanting to visit Marvel Cave for quite some time but the last time we were there it was flooded due to all the rains so we could not go down. This time, however, it was open!
There are 450 steps to walk down & 150 steps to walk up at the end in order to catch the Cable Car which takes you back up to the top so this is not for the faint hearted. In fact it was hard work carrying Caleb all that way as he is too young to walk & a stroller is of course not an option.
These pictures really do not do justice to all the amazing formations.
This one below is just incredible – just like curtain drapes:
I can’t remember how many bats live down here but it was quite a significant number. The main cave opening is so big they can fit 5 hot air balloons in it! In fact they did this for one of the anniversaries & could have put more in but it got too hot. That’s quite a size!
A great place to visit on a hot day – nice & cool down there 🙂
