Can 40 years really go by that fast?!

Yes it can! No, Richard and I have not been married that long…yet BUT a few weekends back we went to see ET at the IMAX. It was the 40th anniversary. ET actually came out the year before we met but I LOVED that movie and had the transfers on my roller skates and guitar case. I don’t have the roller skates anymore but do still have the guitar case. We are told that life goes by in the blink of an eye but it doesn’t really always hit home. It truly is hard for me to believe that 40 years have passed since we saw ET for the first time.

How do you like this ‘right up-to-date’ pic of Richard and I? Today was the only day we were able to attend Southern Gospel Picnic down at Silver Dollar City. Richard, as you can see, was working there today so Caleb and I went in this morning with him and had a great day. It was SO good to catch up with friends that we hadn’t seen in a while. Richard had just been down to the bottom to help someone, hence the purple gloves in his hands, and we were asked to pose for a couple pics. We have SO many good memories of Southern Gospel Picnic. I wasn’t sure how good a shape I was in and whether I would be able to run up the stairs as I have done in previous years. I am VERY happy to report that I can still do it! Whoo hoo! That was a real encouragement.

Today was the first day (apart from Sundays) that I have had off in a LONG time! Our new store, Branson’s Bin Store, is going REALLY well for which we are VERY thankful BUT it is a time sucker. Every week I make the comment that I am constantly chasing time. There are NEVER enough hours in the week and I have yet to catch my tail i.e. finish the week caught up. We are learning a lot and getting more efficient with every load we bring in. Relationships are being made and forged with people we would NEVER have met without this store. We are SO blessed to be able to be a blessing to others during this season of inflation and recession. Folks can come and purchase the items they need from us at a MUCH cheaper price than elsewhere.

Everyone is doing well. It has been a HOT summer here in Missouri but we have also seen rain so once again, VERY grateful. Glad the weather has cooled a little now.

Hope you are all doing well. Sorry it has been so long since I have updated y’all,

Liz
