A long overdue update!
This afternoon Michelle verbally slapped my hand for not writing a blog post in SUCH a long time! Has it really been over a month?! I haven’t been sat twiddling my thumbs, I can assure you. In fact, there truly are not enough hours in the day right now to get done all that I want to. As you can see from the photo, we did get enough snow one day for Caleb to get creative. Thankfully along with the cold and occasional snowy days, we also get warmer days thrown in.
How was our Christmas and New Year? Peaceful and blessed. Apart from eating turkey and being with the family it was uneventful. Due to the cold weather we did not take our usual Christmas Day hike. Richard, Daniel and I got new phones for Christmas so boys being boys, they have been “baiting” each other as to whose phone is the best. (Daniel likes Apple whilst Richard is a Samsung fan!) The Sunday after Christmas was nice so we did take a short hike to a spot where the guys could test their phone cameras at the same time.
Caleb and I have been busy with the pallets – emptying, sorting & getting items ready for sale. Did I ever tell you about our latest enterprise? We are flipping liquidation pallets. It has grown WAY bigger than we could ever have imagined and this past week we signed contracts for two booths in town. Once all the hooks arrive next week, we will start stocking them. Meanwhile we are bagging and pricing etc. We already have a thriving eBay store but needed another outlet as we are running out of space! How God has opened up the doors has been nothing short of amazing! Today we had to go pick up/purchase two curio cabinets so as to be able to lock up the more valuable items on display to prevent theft. We came away, having made a great deal, with a more diverse collection of items that we had no clue about at the beginning of the day. This all truly blows my mind sometimes. We purchased our first pallet for Caleb back in August and here we are now about to launch two physical retail places. (No, we will not have to man the two as they are in the local craft malls.)
Hannah has settled well into the facility. We are able to visit her every 2 weeks so Richard and Daniel went up last week, Michelle and I will go up next week. We call her 2 or 3 times a week to check on her. Other than that we don’t really know what is going on.
I trust that all is well with you and that 2021 will be a good one.
Blessings,
Liz
