MT – Day 23 – Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park

3 photos in this post.

Well, I just discovered that earlier this week, starting with the “A Pair of Posers” post, I messed up and managed to lose 2 days! Whilst I have now updated the posts with the correct days it may seem to you who have been keeping up with us that I have gone back in time! LOL!

Lake McDonald is 10 miles long, a mile wide in places along with being 472ft deep at its deepest point. BEAUTIFUL lake. This is another place we visited in 2009 but it was definitely worth seeing again. The spot pictured above is where you can pay to take a cruise of the lake. (We did this in 2009 but not this trip.) There are many pull-ins along the lake where you can access the “beach” (see top pic). Whilst we only waded in the COLD water, there were people swimming in it.

Here is Caleb sitting on the large roots of a tree that is still standing despite the erosion. He didn’t believe me at first when I told him these were the roots!

Take care,
