Saying “Goodbye” to an old workhorse

We purchased our Suburban over 6 years ago from neighbors just down the road from us. It has truly been a workhorse for us and taken us many, many miles. We were surprised when it passed inspection two years ago and it truly has been the grace of God that has kept it running this long. Everyone could hear us coming due to its squeaking and the poor thing was hard to miss with all its dents and dings.

For the last several months it had been relegated to in-town driving only. Neither Richard nor I were comfortable with taking it on the major highways or long distances. We had made the decision that we were not going to put any more money into it and to let it die when it died. Well, it never did die! HOWEVER inspection time was coming due again and we knew this time there was absolutely NO way it was going to pass. Four new tires would have been the minimum it needed but probably a whole lot more. SO it was time to say “goodbye”. We advertised it cheap on Saturday and by Sunday someone was here with the cash to pick it up.

What it means for now is that we are down to just one vehicle. We have lived with one vehicle before so can do it again. Of course, having two vehicles is very convenient as it means I can take Daniel to work when Richard is not here, run errands etc. but that’s okay. Another vehicle will come our way when we need it.

Take care,

I am sure you will find the right vehicle at just the right time.
