Bumper Cars

As we get ready to watch the fireworks this evening here at Treasure Lake I have a few minutes to catch you up on what has been going on in our lives. I feel like I have not been as sociable this year but it has been SO hot. Everyone I do talk to feels the same way. With temperatures in the high 90’s and heat indexes in the 105F range, apart from being at the pool and walking Hovis, I am spending as little time outside as possible. Not only that we have been preparing our corner booth this week also. Daniel helped me paint the final pieces of slatwall on Monday. With Richard at work, Jerry, the maintenance man, helped me put them up on Tuesday. The other days I have been sorting matboard and putting dividers between each color and size so that it is easy to pull what I need.

Up until today we had not taken the large (32″ x 40″) matboard sheets up to The Mill. We do not precut the 12″ x 36″ mat as it is so large and to keep quantities of any color would be a waste thus that size gets cut on demand. Yesterday we lost a sale due to not being able to create a 12″ x 36″ right there and then so guess what? All the matboard went up to The Mill today. Yes, it is a lot but now everything is up there. This will make us more efficient.

Last weekend we visited America’s Fun Park here in Branson which is a new park up on the Strip. Have to admit that none of us were that impressed BUT Daniel and Caleb did have fun on the Bumper Cars. Michelle went on a couple times also.

Here’s wishing those who celebrate a very happy July 4th. Richard is getting ready to video and live-stream tonight’s fireworks, something that has not been done before, at least I don’t think so. Treasure Lake always puts on an AMAZING show!
